Beaches-East York is my home. I have lived, worked and volunteered here for more than a decade. I’ve been an active part of several local organizations working for the benefit of our communities, including the Beaches Lion’s Club, 100 Women Who Care Toronto East and the Beach Hill Neighbourhood Association.

In my professional life, I’m an inclusive, people-focused leader and trusted advisor working in the fields of social work, mediation and social justice program management. As the Senior Advisor to Commissioner of Housing Equity (OCHE), I bring experience handling ethical complaints and leading dispute resolution initiatives on behalf of low-income tenants of Toronto’s largest social housing provider. As a part-time professor at Centennial College, I work hard to inspire students to pursue careers in community service.

Over more than 15 years in the social work field, I supported non-profit and community agencies, many in East York. I advocated for marginalized communities and delivered crisis mediation for families in need.

My friend Nate Erskine-Smith has been a good MP for Beaches-East York. But our next MP will face new challenges and needs to bring different skills to the job. Our new MP must bring people together, locally and nationally, working across party lines.  We need someone with real life experience.

I’m excited to seek the nomination to be your Liberal candidate for Beaches-East York. I bring the experience, passion and capabilities to serve our diverse communities both in our riding and in Ottawa.

I make a real difference to my clients and students as a tireless advocate.  I am an active volunteer across our community. As your Liberal MP, I will accomplish so much more for our community, helping shape the policies that impact our daily lives.
